"Clara" measures 60 cm (23.6 inches). She is wearing a delightful tutu and a precious embroidered top sewn directly upon her delicate pur cotton body. The arms are attached with discreet buttons. In her back is sewn a magnificent embroidered "La Française®" label.
Her corset is made of the finest haute couture fabric while her skirt is composed of several shades of grey creating a subtle ombre effect. This "La Française®" doll is named "Scarlett" (smaller version) after the heroine of Margaret Mitchell's romantic novel “Gone with the Wind”. Free spirited, independent, brave, charming, passionate, witty, and very determined, the “Georgia belle” was also famous for her outstanding looks.
Inspired by the character and fashion style of this icon, this doll is dressed in a pink haute couture like gown. To bring alive this exceptional design, hours of meticulous craftsmanship were required. Beads and flowers were embroidered one by one to create a subtly sparkling corset. Inspired by the beautiful costumes of the ballet «Roméo and Juliette», by Sergueï Prokofiev, «Juliette» is our prima ballerina. Pirouette, arabesque, pas chassé… with every step she makes, the elaborate embroideries of her tutu and matching top dazzle the audience. Very graceful, her multilayered skirt delicately held by a golden braid gives off an impression of lightness. Just like the precious butterfly upon her purse, she seems to flutter above the stage as she dances.
