This "La Française®" doll is named "Alexandra" after the legendary dancer Alexandra Danilova. Captivating friends and audiences all around the world, both on and off stage, her mere presence was striking to behold. Known not only for her exceptional beauty and professional skills, this prima ballerina was also deeply admired for her charisma and generous nature.
In tribute to Alexandra's nickname "my jewel" lovingly given to her by Diaghilev, who allowed her to become one of the most famous Ballets Russes dancers, the purse shining against her pale pink flower embroidered gown is adorned with gemstones. The precious silver crown is a subtle wink to another of her great achievements, her leading role in the ballet Danses Concertantes for which she wore a rhinestone-studded costume.
